New Order - Temptation
Diva - Glow Worm
Digging the new Diva Dompe video. Her Album drops in August via Critical Heights.
Kid Creole & The Coconuts - Dear Addy
Ryan Lynch from Dominant Legs put this song on a mix he made for Night Fog Reader. It’s been stuck in my head for a few days now.
We have a logo now, so we’re celebrating with a launch party.
Night Fog Reader went public in March. Since then, we’ve been lucky enough to post mixes from some of our favorite local musicians (Dominant Legs, Nick Waterhouse, Melted Toys, and Damon of Mi Ami/Jonas Reinhardt), we’ve written up some awesome local shows, posted exclusive tracks, and some local gossip/stories. The response has been surprising, and we feel super grateful! But all this time had gone by and we’ve never had a logo. Well, that’s changed (designer credit: Zachary Maricondia) and now we want to celebrate with an official launch!
We’ve asked a few of our friends to help us out. Performing live will be…
The garage-key electro trio that blasts dance jams using Casio/Korg keyboards, drums and samplers – nope, no laptops in this rig. They just recorded some new material with Phil Manley (Trans AM/The Fucking Champs/Jonas Reinhardt), and are gearing up for some big things this year. Check out their latest track.

PAMELA
It’ll be Pamela’s third show ever! Night Fog Reader first caught wind of Pamela when she performed with Will Ivy and California Sunshine at the Knockout a few weeks back. She’s out in New York right now and playing at Bruar Falls this Friday (5/24). Don’t worry, we know her flight will be back for this show. She’s on first, so get there early!

Nick Waterhouse & The Tarots // Some Place
The first thing I was asked when I played Nick Waterhouse & The Tarots to my friend was, “When was this put out?” Looks are deceiving as I show my bud the 45 rpm 7 inch with no cover. Self described as a “midnight-hour R&B shake-fest” the sound hooks, and they’re doing a very smart thing. The 7’’ put out by PRES Records last fall has already sold out. Repress was due out in Feb, and since then the R&B gang has been busy recording in LA. See them live, and get the record this weekend as they open for The Strange Boys, Ty Segall, Cosmonauts, & Moonhearts at Club Verdi. Waterhouse & The Tarots are on at 9pm. $10, All ages.

Tomorrow night will be the night to dance and sweat. The rain and yourself. Wetness all around. Kitsch Gallery hosts MARKLION, Kit Clayton (dj), Wav Dwgs (LIVE), and Dominique Leon (dj). MARKLION is the beat ego for Vicent T - former member of Dat Politics. But he wont be packing sound toys, he’ll be bringing a full bodied visual and audio implosion. 9pm.

Blouse - Into Black
I’m very excited about the magical dream pop sounds coming from PDX right now. Blouse, who took my ear my surprise this week have a 7” is due on March 29th via Captured Tracks. Check them out. Some really great stuff.
Tonight! Trevor Goosen (Boyz IV Men) will be showing his new art at No Shop. Expect some booty shaking.
Wax Idols - All Too Human
This video comes via Betty. I’m very excited for the things Hether Fortune’s Wax Idols have in store. I caught a chance to see the the Idols a few weeks ago at the Tamaryn, Soft Moon show. Sure, there were a lot of “industry people” standing around due to the Noise Pop culture, but they certainly did not lack in bringing an energy that kept ears fixed to the stage. Look out for their 7” due in April via Hozac Records. Read a more elaborate piece on Wax Idols on Betty.
Produced, directed, filmed, and edited by Hayden Shiebler
Co-produced by Hether Fortune
